The following are some of the references to Bhagatji Maharaj given in Swami Ni Vato.
5/206 - Gunatitanand Swami says, "Pragji (Bhagatji Maharaj) finds very good Vachanamruts and gives very nice talks. I am very pleased with him."
5/393, 11/124 - Keshavjivandasji asked Gunatitanand Swami, "Jaga Bhakta (Jaga Swami) and Pragji Bhakta say You are Mul Akshar. I do not understand that. I have faith, so please tell me as it is, and I will believe it." Gunatitanand Swami thus replied, "Only I am Mul Akshar - believe it. If someone besides me is Mul Akshar, then it is between Me and him. But you should know that I am Mul Akshar." Gunatitanand Swami repeated this 2-3 times, and Keshavjivandasji soon gained faith.
5/395 - Someone told Gunatitanand Swami, "After giving powers to Pragji Bhakta, he has become reckless. So do to him, as was done with Shekhji." Gunatitanand Swami however replied, "He is not ignorant. His root extends all the way to "paatal." His [powers] were bestowed due to truly pleasing Me." In Swami Ni Vato 5/130 it is noted that Shekhji was given powers but could not handle them.
During Swaminarayan Bhagwan's time. Swaminarayan Bhagwan once gave a stick to Muktanand Swami that had the power to put people into samaadhi. Shekhji, a Muslim follower, insisted that he could spread the satsanga to the northwest regions if he had some powers as well. Swaminarayan Bhagwan blessed Shekhji with the power that if he stroked his beard he could put people into samaadhi. But only some distance away, Shekhji began using the powers and soon became very popular. When a group of saints heard about this, they approached Shekhji to return to Swaminarayan Bhagwan. Shekhji however did not return home even upon Muktanand Swami's insistence. Swaminarayan Bhagwan thus withdrew Shekhji's powers, explaining that mostly everyone behaves like this when they get powers. When Shekhji hubmly returned to Swaminarayan Bhagwan, Muktanand Swami asked Swaminarayan Bhagwan to forgive him. Swaminarayan Bhagwan agreed with the condition that he shave off his beard! [An alternate story explains that Shekhji was given a magical stick, but he was to follow four conditions (only use the powers for satsanga; do not discourse to women; do not wear kingly clothes; and do not eat sweets). But Shekhji violated all four vows and began calling himself Shriji Maharaj. Thus, Swaminarayan Bhagwan withdrew the powers.]
11/150 - Pragji Bhakta, Manjibhai, and Natha Patel of Kariyani stay in the region of Gadhada. Those in Gadhada tell them not to go to Junagadh; despite this, they come to be in Gunatitanand Swami's association. Gunatitanand Swami states, "Those in Gadhada may call them bandiyaa (excommunicated), but in fact, this saint [Gunatitanand Swami] is pleased with them, and thus Maharaj (Swaminarayan Bhagwan) is being pleased."
11/176 - Gunatitanand Swami states, "Pragji Bhakta tolerates much hardship to spread [the knowledge of] My form. Many negative people have insulted him greatly. But without considering the opposition, he openly says [Gunatitanand Swami] is Mul Akshar." Once while massaging Pavitranand Swami's feet, Bhagatji Maharaj told him, "Only by having faith in Maharaj after believing [Gunatitanand] Swami to be Mul Akshar will one gain the qualities of Akshar, and thus remain in the service of Maharaj." Gunatitanand Swami states, "No one else can say this truth to such elders. But in all ways [Bhagatji Maharaj's] only zeal is to spread divine knowledge." Gunatitanand Swami continues, "I have unlimited love for him...I am greatly pleased with him."
Once, in a garden, Gunatitanand Swami told Bhagatji Maharaj, "You are to spread [the knowledge] of Mul Akshar." Bhagatji Maharaj replied, "My [talks] do not carry weight. But if you give me some powers, then I can help everyone understand as I do."
In Swami Ni Vato 11/278, Gunatitanand Swami explains that after giving Pragji Bhagat antarayaameepanu (all-knowing powers) many began to understand [that Gunatitanand Swami is Mul] Akshar.
11/236 - When Gunatitanand Swami started talking openly, many could not bear it. Many instigated that, "In Satsangijivan (the scripture by Shatanand Swami), Maharaj is called Krishna Bhagwan. Then why is [Gunatitanand Swami] saying that Maharaj [is supreme]." Gunatitanand Swami says that similarly, "Right now when Pragji Bhakta calls Me Mul Akshar, many cannot bear it. But just as many now accept Maharaj as Purushottam, it will be accepted that I am Aksharbrahm."
11/237 - Gunatitanand Swami states, "After listening to his talks, whoever does droha or opposes this Pragji Bhakta, Maharaj will be kopa or not pleased with him. Such a person will not have inner happiness and will be greatly distressed."
